Osprey in Flight
On the island of Eleuthera, each day is full of magic moments. Our visits makes us fall in love with Eleuthera and its people so much that it becomes more and more difficult to leave.
Walking on the pink-sand beach on a January afternoon, I headed north to experience this pristine and undeveloped stretch of Atlantic beach.
As the setting sun cast ever-changing colors onto the sky, sea and sand, I clicked away with my camera trying to capture the perfect, magic moment. The tide pools changed from pink to gold. The sky was a masterpiece of rainbow hues. And the ocean revealed clear pale green water in every perfect wave, illuminated by the late day's rays.
A lone osprey had settled on the sand near a tide pool, searching for a fish. As I approached him he began to call out, warning me, yet he remained where he was. I was able to watch him feed and fly back and forth over the shallow shoreline.
Walking home past giant driftwood trees along the pink sand, I was filled with gratitude that I was able to see such beauty and experience peace and solitude completely undisturbed by others.
